How does a Financial Professional become Bucket Plan Certified®?

In order to become Bucket Plan Certified®, financial professionals must meet the following educational and experience-based requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree, or have at least two years of industry experience
  • Hold a life insurance license
  • Hold at least one of the following:
    • CFA®
    • CFP®
    • ChFC®
    • Series 6
    • Series 7
    • Series 63
    • Series 65
    • Series 66
  • Complete two eLearning courses
  • Complete eLearning course knowledge assessment, with a passing grade
  • Attend a two-day live training event
  • Complete a final, proctored exam, with a passing grade

In addition to these requirements, a financial professional must conduct himself/herself according to the accepted ethical principles of the profession and be committed to providing financial planning services in each client’s best interest. Renewals are also required to maintain certification, with corresponding assessments to ensure knowledge retention and comprehension of new practices.
